A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. on November 12, 2012 at the Wesley Center, 199 East Jefferson St. Waupun. Inurnment will be at Forest Mound Cemetery. Angeline’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Wesley Center on Monday, November 12 beginning at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.Angeline was born in Waupun on May 31, 1921, a daughter of John and Winifred (Searvogel) Riel. She was married to Orville Abel, and he preceded her in death in 1989. Angeline was employed by McGregor Sandknit in Waupun for 25 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and excelled at embroidery and sewing. Angeline lovingly sewed her wedding dress, her own and her children’s clothes, and grand-daughters prom dresses. She made jogging suits and baby quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Baking was another pleasure of hers, especially making a large variety of cookies for the holidays. Other hobbies include reading Harlequin Romance novels, and playing bingo and yahtzee.Angeline is survived by nine grandchildren; Sandra (Jim Benzel) Lackey, North Fond du Lac, WI, Lori (Edward) Brooks, Puckett, MS, Kathy (Larry) Armes, Fallon, NV, Gail (Mike) Chrysler-Viscuso, Lomira, WI, Robert (Dianna) Garlow, FL, Amy (Chris) Manske, Ripon, WI, Melissa (Roy) Adams, North Fond du Lac, Tracy (Brian) Weise, Waupun, WI, and Mark Garlow, Plainfield, WI. She is further survived by 27 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren, two brothers; Wally (Catherine) Riel, and Wilbert (Joyce) Riel, both of Waupun, WI, one sister, Haleta (Clifford) Otte, Sheboygan Falls, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her two daughters; Winnie Reilley and Alice Garlow, and four brothers; Clarence, Garret, Marvin and James Riel, three sisters; Janet Streekstra, Johanna VerStraate and infant Katherine Riel.
