Betty was born on July 16, 1927 in Oakfield to John and Kathryn (Traxler) Philipsky, the youngest of ten children. Betty graduated from Oakfield High School in 1945. Betty was employed at the Infant Socks Company in Fond du Lac, and has many fond memories of lunch breaks at Gillie’s Custard Drive-in.

On September 17, 1955, she was united in marriage to George L. Lund in Oakfield. Betty went to work in the lunch programs and as a custodian with the Oakfield School District for several years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakfield where she attended many Bible classes and was very active in the Ladies Aide.

Betty was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post 8092, holding many offices until it disbanded in June of 2012. She enjoyed crafts, and her children have many of her plastic canvas and ceramic projects. Betty especially loved reading books from the Oakfield Public Library. Her favorite place to be was outdoors, and she enjoyed working in her garden and tending to the needs of grateful birds.

Betty is survived by her son, Charles (Jean) Lund, Oakfield, her daughter, Brenda Lund, Oshkosh, and her sister, Marge Bergman of Thorp.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and siblings: Albert, Kathryn, Theresa, John, Thomas (who died at Pearl Harbor), Anne, Frank, and Carl.
