Ronald Bert Landaal, age 71 of Waupun, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 21, 2014 at his home.
Ronald was born on June 30, 1942 in Brandon, the son of Bert and Alice (Loomans) Landaal. He was a lifelong Waupun area resident, graduating from Waupun High School and entering into service with the U.S. Army. On September 11, 1964 he was united in marriage to Janice Lillehamer. Ronald managed the family dairy farm for many years until retiring to the city of Waupun. Ronald enjoyed hunting and spending quality time with his buddy, Johnny Hoekstra. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and also belonged to the American Legion Post 210.
Ronald is survived by his son, Jeff (Michelle) Landaal, Zeeland, MI, three daughters: Lori (Rick) Golz, Traci (Steve) Flegner, and Cindy (Steve) Zietlow, all of Waupun, nine grandchildren: Joshua (Kayleen Shoemaker) Landaal, Jacob and Shelby Landaal, Jennifer (Casey) Koehler, Brett (Christy) Golz, Jonathan (Kelly) Flegner Brittany Flegner, Reid and Raine Zietlow, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters: Ardell Stelsel, Marge Redeker, RuthAnn (Cal) Flegner, two brothers: Byron Landaal and Bud (Sylvia) Landaal, and a brother-in-law, Gordy Brown, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janice in 2000, his step-mother Ruth Landaal, a sister Marynell Brown, and two brothers-in-law, Milan Stelsel and Robert Redeker.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Elizabeth Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard.
Ronald’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of service.
Memorials will be directed to the American Legion Post 210 of Waupun.
