Bill Dick Wills, age 79, of Markesan passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
Bill was born on September 21, 1937 in Detroit, MI. A son of Howard and Dorthea (Hoh) Wills. He was a graduate of Rockford East High School, class of 1955. On February 14, 1959 he was united in marriage to Marlene Spice in Rockford, IL. In 1988 they moved to Markesan. He spent his career in manufacturing and management. Bill opened the first gasket company in Markesan known as Green Lake Gasket in 1988. He enjoyed activities that involved his sons; including the father son pool tournament and playing cards at Stubby’s. Traveling on several cruises and going to different casinos was a great joy of Bill’s. In his free time he liked to golf and go fishing on his pontoon boat. He will miss his dog Mandy.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marlene of Markesan; 2 sons, Jeffrey Wills and Todd (Mary Hundt) Wills of Markesan; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin Wills, Rhonda Wills, Tay (Nina) Wills, Troy (Sarah) Wills and Allen (Frankie) Hundt; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild (expected in May); a sister, Nancy Pappas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Howard (Evelyn) Wills, a sister, Dolores (Joe) Radakovich and a brother-in-law, Dan Pappas.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan.
The family would like to give a thank you to the staff of Agnesian Hospice Hope, a special thank you to Dr. Kumar, Becca, Joyce, Joellen, Joy and Elmo.
