Donald Van Beek, age 79, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
Don was born February 12, 1938 in Clinton, New Jersey to Peter and Nellie (Noteboom) Van Beek. He settled in the Randolph area in 1955. He married Johanna De Vries on February 12, 1958, their marriage was blessed with two sons. Don was employed at Caranation Can in Waupun and the Randolph Feed Mills. After retirement, he enjoyed driving for R & R Auto Sales. He was a member of the Second Randolph Christian Reformed Church, where earlier in life, he was actively involved as Head Usher, Sunday School Superintendent and deacon. Don chose a modest life, he enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. Later in life, he enjoyed socializing at numerous local restaurants with his friend Ramona. Don would only be a stranger once, then a friend forever.
Don is survived by his two sons; Calvin (Cindy), Randolph and David (Cheryl), Fox Lake. Six grandchildren; Barry (Niki) Van Beek, Amy Jo (Scott) Reed, Troy (Jennie) Van Beek, Derick Van Beek, Felicia (Jordan) Bump, Cody Van Beek. Eleven great grandchildren; Graeme, Liana, Reese, Tessa, Annika, Vincent, Claire, Gwen, Vera, Jayden, Myra and great granddaughter Andi expected in April. Don is also survived by siblings Roger (Janice) Van Beek, Verlyn (Mari Lou) Van Beek, Charlene Van Beek and his in-laws; Mavis Van Beek, Marion Van Beek, Harold (Fran) DeVries , Millie De Vries, Sylvia De Vries and special friend Ramona Medema.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Johanna in 1998, his parents, brothers, Gerald (Edie) Van Beek and Cliff Van Beek, brothers-in-law; John, Pete, Frank, Marvin, Willard De Vries and their spouses, Charlie and Chester De Vries.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 A.M. Friday, March 31, 2017, at Second Randolph Christian Reformed Church, 332 Tamarack Street, Randolph, and Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 10 A.M. to the time of the service.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Second Randolph Christian Reformed Church. Burial to follow at Randolph Cemetery.
The family thanks the Waupun Memorial Hospital Emergency Room and Fond du Lac St. Agnes Hospital staff for their exemplary care given to Don.
Memorials may be directed to Randolph Christian School.
