Ames Paul Deaver, age 83 of Waupun, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 13, 2017 on his land that he loved and cared for so much of his life.
Ames was born on May 20, 1933 in the town of Waupun, a son of Paul and Evelyn (Merten) Deaver. He was a graduate of Brandon High School. On June 26, 1954 he was united in marriage to Veronica Schneider at Woodhull, WI. In 1952, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until 1956. He was a farmer all of his life and also worked for Towne Construction before working at Mercury Marine for 30+ years until retirement and then he worked for R.A. Pinno Construction.
Besides his love for his family, Ames truly enjoyed nature whether it was gardening or hunting. He played softball for a number of decades into his sixties. Ames will be remembered as the most generous and kind character with a smile you wouldn’t forget.
Ames is survived by 7 children, Kenneth (Billie) Deaver of Waupun, Brenda (Norm) Kibbel of Brandon, Michael Deaver of Waupun, Jake (Katie) Deaver of Lamartine, Carla (Earl) Norenberg of Oakfield, Mae (Todd) Strehlow of Brandon and David (Deb) Deaver of Eldorado; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jean (Dick) Towne of Waupun and Verda Mae Berkers of Waupun; a brother, Glen (Delores) Deaver of Brandon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica in 2003; a son, Ronald in 1985; his parents and a sister, Ellen Ann Veto.
Visitation for Ames will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 118 West Main Street, Waupun and on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
A mass of Christian burial for Ames will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Radetski officiating. Entombment will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.
