Clifford Franklin Sweet

Clifford Franklin Sweet Jr., age 97, of Waupun, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Eden Vista Assisted Living in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Clifford was born on October 15, 1928, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the son of Clifford Sr. and Nancy (Chapman) Sweet. He was a graduate of Oshkosh High School, class of 1947, and continued his education earning a degree in social work. On June 11, 1961, he married Myrna Giese at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oshkosh. His professional journey included positions at Kimberly-Clark, Milwaukee County Mental Health, and Outagamie and Waukesha County Social Services. He also served as a history substitute teacher at Waupun High School and worked as a social worker at the Waupun Correctional Institution.

Cliff had a passion for genealogy, dedicating time to exploring his family history. He enjoyed gardening and took great pleasure in planting fruit trees, which he and his wife used to create delicious applesauce and cider under the name "Sweet Acres." Additionally, Cliff was an avid beekeeper, spending delightful days at the Fond du Lac Farmer's Market, where he shared fresh honey with the community.

Clifford is survived by his children, Cathy Sweet of Mountain Home, NC, Donna Sweet of Beaver Dam, WI, Clifford (Kim) Sweet III of Santa Rosa, CA, Estelle (Ken Flood) of Klamath Falls, OR and Troy (Francisca) Sweet of McDonald, TN; 7 grandchildren, Liesse Bohlmann, David (Christina) Lange, Marsha (Jake Jenkins) Lange, Fiona Sweet, Oliver Sweet, Brittany Sweet and Michael (Tonya) Flood; and 6 great grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Sweet; parents; grandson, Jacob Heisig-Sweet; and sister, Nancy Winter.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, WI 53963.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Kohls Community Funeral Home with Pastor Ackles and Pastor Aust officiating.
