Dawn Marie VanderGalien

Dawn Marie Smith (VanderGalien) age 54, of Waupun, passed away at her residence on Friday, September 18, 2026.

Dawn was born on May 28, 1972, daughter of David and Barbara (Gysbers) VanderGalien. She was a graduate of Waupun High School. Dawn spent her working years caring for others, working at various nursing homes as a CNA. She also worked part time as a waitress in the area. Outside of work, Dawn enjoyed the things that brought her happiness. She loved Rock n Roll music, and in her earlier years she enjoyed playing pool in area pool leagues. She also loved to cook and was especially known for her lasagna. Her love for animals was an important part of her life, and she especially loved her dogs and horses.

Dawn is survived by her nephew, Tyler (Karmen) VanderGalien and their son Hunter; her niece Makiya VanderGalien and further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David, Barbara and Gwen VanderGalien and her sister Kim VanderGalien.

A private graveside service will be held.

Dawn will be remembered for her caring heart, her love of music, her good cooking, and the warmth she shared with others. Her memory will remain with all who knew and loved her.
