Dennis Merlyn Schueler Sr. age 75 of Markesan, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Markesan Resident Home with family at his side.
Dennis was born on March 26, 1950, son of Wilbert and Lorna (Lueck) Schueler. He was a man who truly loved life and found his passion in driving semi-trucks. Trucking was not just a job for Dennis; it was a huge part of his identity. He relished the freedom of the open roads, often taking delight in the beautiful country scenery, and he never took the same roads home. Throughout his career, he drove for many local trucking companies, becoming a familiar face on the highways.
Dennis had a good sense of humor, his laughter and easygoing nature brought joy to his family and friends, making every interaction a memorable one.
In addition to his love for driving, Dennis enjoyed various hobbies that brought him happiness. He was a great supporter of his grandson Michael, often attending his races to cheer him on as he raced his car. Dennis also had a fondness for antique tractor pulling and truck pulls.
Dennis is survived by his four children, Dennis “Jr.” Schueler, Roger Schueler, Pam (Mike) Smith and Amy Schueler; ten grandchildren, Scott (Kelli), Austin (Natalie), Derek (Anna), Zachary, Kara, Maradith, Madilyn, Jackie (Ben), Kimberly and Michael; six great grandchildren, Bexley, Rylee, Kaylee, Wyatt, Archer and Alivia; sister, Diane (Ron) Weber, Keith (Patti) Schueler and DuWayne (Joan) Schueler; special friend Margie; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Colleen and his brother, Douglas Schueler.
A private graveside service will be held.
