Donald "Don" De Vries

Donald De Vries, age 91, of Randolph, was taken to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Don was born on July 21, 1934, the son of Herman and Clara (Kuik) De Vries. He served in the Army from March 28, 1957 to March 27, 1959. After serving his country, he worked for and was co-owner of Randolph Plumbing and Heating for 63 years until his retirement. Don was united in marriage to Hilda De Young on August 14, 1959, in Friesland and they were married for 66 years.

In his free time Don enjoyed restoring old cars and gas engines and attended many old car and steam engine shows. He also had a joy for woodworking, working on many projects throughout the years. Don was a lifelong member of Randolph Protestant Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and deacon.

Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hilda De Vries; two children, Connie (Neil) Meyer of Grand Rapids, MI and Kathryn (Steve) Oldenburg of Madison, WI; five grandchildren, Annette (Tim) Kuiper, Christina (Matt) Overway, Ben (Sara) Meyer, Jennelle (Jared) Van Overloop, Tabitha Feenstra all of Grand Rapids, MI; fourteen great grandchildren, Evelin Kuiper, Levi, Gwenyth, Cora and Judah Overway, Jane, Annie and Simon Meyer, Tedd, Tyce and Drew Feenstra, Maxwell, Leeland and Tate Van Overloop; three brothers, Hank (Barb), Frank (Marie), and Morris (Arlene) De Vries all of Randolph; sister-in-law, Frieda Vande Zande of Waupun; in-laws, Patricia De Vries of Grand Rapids, MI and Sue De Vries of Randolph. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Gerald, Martin, James and Ted De Vries.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Randolph Protestant Reformed Church, 229 Hammond Street, Randolph, WI 53956.

A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Smit officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Randolph VFW Post 9210 Honor Guard.
