Elizabeth "Libby" Cabot

Elizabeth A. “Libby” Cabot, 64, of Markesan, WI passed away Saturday April 19, 2025, at her home.

She was born on January 14, 1961, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of John and Ida (Thompson) Carey. She married Terry A. Cabot on February 16, 1979, in Freeport, IL. Libby owned and operated Cabot’s Lake House Motel; she turned her dream into a reality creating a cozy home for others. In her earlier years, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), demonstrating her caring spirit and dedication to helping others.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Terry Cabot of Markesan, WI; son, Todd Cabot of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Colin (Diane) Carey of Freeport, IL; and five grandchildren, Olivia, Kaitlin, Brielle, Amelia, and Isabella. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday May 2, 2025, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home 504 North Walnut Avenue, Freeport, IL 61032.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service. A memorial has been established in her memory.
