Henry Allan Snyder II, age 81, of Waupun, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Hank was born on August 29, 1944, in Paso Robles, California, the first born of Henry and Betty (Cannady) Snyder. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School, class of 1963. After graduation, he spent four years in the Air Force working on the auto pilot systems of the B-52 bomber and the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. After his discharge from military service, Hank focused on his education and career. In 1969, he earned an Associate of Arts degree in electronics from the College of San Mateo, which led him to a position at Memorex, a manufacturer of recording tapes. His professional journey continued as he transitioned into real estate, where he became a branch manager and later the director of sales training for American Realty in San Jose.
Hank's pursuit of education was a lifelong commitment. He returned to school, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Biblical Studies in 1990. This was followed by a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching from Concordia College in 1994, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Science from Multnomah Bible College in 1995. He spent a year teaching at Christian Community Academy before moving to Portland, eventually returning to Wisconsin, where he became a writer for the Neighbors and Beaver Dam Daily Citizen until his retirement.
Hank was an active member of Edgewood Community Church in Waupun, Wisconsin. He had a passion for photography, writing, and Bible study, which enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
Hank will be remembered for his dedication to education and his contributions to his community. His legacy of learning and faith will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Hank is survived by his sisters, Sally Ann Schultz, Margaret Jean Quandt, Barbara Jane (David) Spreen and Kathleen Sue (Joe LeBeau) Snyder; and his brother, Paul Alexander Snyder. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Fred Quandt and Ron Schultz; and sister-in-law, Christine Snyder.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Edgewood Community Church, 201 Edgewood Drive, Waupun, WI 53963.
A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, with Pastor Roger Knowlton officiating.
