Kathleen Diane Kamphuis

Kathleen Diane Kamphuis, age 82, of Waupun, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI.

Kathy was born on October 30, 1942, in Beaver Dam, WI, daughter of Theodore and Eleanor (Wanilista) Rake. She was united in marriage to Byron Kamphuis on June 17, 1974, in Las Vegas, NV. Kathy graduated from Waupun High School. She worked at Tom Dooley Apple Orchard during several fall seasons. She took pride in her work at Kohls Funeral Home, where she cleaned for a number of years. She also worked as a clerk at Ben Franklin for several years, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and strong work ethic.

Her family, especially her grandchildren, meant the world to her. She loved going to their school events, swimming lessons and dance recitals. Kathy took great pride in her family, often expressing her love through her passion for sewing clothes for her children and family. She cherished having Sunday family gatherings, which were always filled with laughter, warmth, and love. She was especially fond of traveling with her husband and her daughter Nikki, creating beautiful memories together. Kathy enjoyed playing the slots and was looking forward to her next big win. In her free time, she enjoyed coffee and bingo with her apartment friends, often sharing laughter. She was a devoted member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Waupun. Kathy will be remembered for her kindness, her commitment to family, and the joy she found in the simple moments of life.

Kathy is survived by four children, Dawn (Mark) Rohr of Waupun, Jamie Rake of Waupun, Jennifer (Jason) Morgan of Fond du Lac and Nicole Kamphuis of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Lucas and Makenna Morgan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Kamphuis; three sisters, Monica Weeden, Paulette Rake and Eleanor (Bill) Redeker; brother, Theodore Rake.

Visitation for Kathy will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at First Christian Reformed Church 20 Bly Street, Waupun, WI 53963.

Funeral service for Kathy will follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Greg Schuringa officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
