Kristine Marie Kahl

d. Sep 14, 2026

Markesan

Kristine Marie Kahl, my sister, 61 of Markesan, went to her heavenly home on Monday, September 14, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born to Wayne and Ernestine Roberts on January 16, 1965 in Fond du Lac. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran religion. She attended school in the Green Lake and Ripon district. On April 30, 1983 she married John Kahl at Terrace Shores Evangelical Church along the shores of Green Lake. Together they celebrated 43 years. They resided in the Ripon, Montello and Markesan area all of their lives, where they raised their three sons.

Kris was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed the simple things in life by baking and cooking for her family. She enjoyed spending time with friends and made lifelong friends that included their extended families. She enjoyed reading, and collecting angels and bells. She had a love for all of the stray cats in the neighborhood by feeding them on her front porch so she could see them daily. Kris struggled with many health problems for the past ten years, making the simple things in life, harder for her to do. As her mobility decreased in life, I often reminded her that she had mermaid legs. She now has traded in those legs for dancing legs. She is dancing in the heavens above as heard by the thunder on the evening that she left her earthly home. In her final days as confusion consumed her, she engaged in the Lords Prayer with me and was ready to go and be with our parents and those whom she loved that left before her. She is now with our Lord, Oh what a glorious day for Kris.

Kris is survived by her husband, John Kahl; her three sons, David, William and Patrick; her siblings, Larry Roberts, Shirley Koehn, Wayne Roberts, Linda Winkler, Sheila (Randy) Engel; stepbrother, Bob (Kathy) Seymer and stepsister, Mary Stolzman. She is also survived by John’s siblings, Tim (Diane) Kahl, Roy (Paula) Kahl, Bruce (Sarah) Kahl, Judy Schultz and Mary Kahl. Other survivors include her goddaughter Jennifer (Matt) Navis, and Kris’ sons from other mothers, Nate (Clarissa) Wolke and their children Caiden and Kayson Wolke and Adam (Courtney) Respalje and their children Olivia and Brody Respalje whom she considered her grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and extended families and friends especially to include the Jerome and Mary Hopp families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Cyril Seymer, in-laws, Harvey and Betty Kahl, four sisters, Judy Rogers, Suzanne Kapp, Joanne and Charlotte Roberts; a nephew Steve Kapp and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Within the past year she also lost a dear a friend Jim Carstensen.

She will be missed by her cats Sassy and Midnight but she joins Jack Daniels and Cinders in heaven.
