Larry Donald Vande Slunt

Larry Donald Vande Slunt, age 67, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Larry was born on March 1, 1959, in Waupun, Wisconsin, the son of Donald and Jean (Kwakkel) Vande Slunt. He married Constance “Connie” Austin on September 3, 1991, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Larry lived a life shaped by hard work, deep family love, and the simple joys that meant the most to him. He took great pride in his career as a truck driver, with more than 3.5 million miles traveled. Larry grew up on a farm, a connection that stayed with him throughout his life, as he enjoyed living in the country, hunting deer, and restoring, pulling, and working with Oliver tractors, which he would remind you was the ‘right shade of green’ for farm tractors. An avid Packers fan, he never missed a game and was always looking forward to the next season. More than anything, Larry cherished the time he spent with his family, especially with his wife, Connie, and son, Joe. He missed Connie dearly and often talked about how excited he was to see her again. We take comfort knowing they are now reunited.

Larry is survived by his son, Joseph (Molly) Vande Slunt; siblings, Linda (Darryl) DeClute, Gary (Elly) Vande Slunt, Sandra (John) Perkins, Donald Jr. (Theresa) Vande Slunt; and canine companions, Audi and Taco. He leaves behind many beloved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Vande Slunt in 2015; parents; and nephew, Robert Kastenschmidt.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Fond du Lac Humane Society, 652 Triangle Road, Fond du Lac, WI 54935 or the USO.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. as an open house style event on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Legacy Express W6974 County Hwy OO, Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
