Mary Ann Van Ruiswyk

Mary Ann Van Ruiswyk, age 85 of Waupun, passed away at her home on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Mary Ann was born on October 26, 1940, daughter of Hans and Violet (Biermann) Schroeder. Mary lived a life marked by care for others, steady work, and faithful devotion. She worked at Huth & James Shoe Factory and at Electric Wire and Connector Manufacturing in Waupun. She also lovingly babysat for many family members and friends, sharing her time and kindness with those around her. Mary Ann was a caring woman whose warmth was felt by many. She sang in the choir and was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Waupun. On June 25, 2005, Mary Ann was united in marriage to James Van Ruiswyk. They shared their marriage together until his passing in 2012.

Mary Ann is survived by her two brothers, Gordon (Christine) Schroeder and Dennis (Chris) Schroeder; sister-in-law, Barbara Schroeder; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Van Ruiswyk; sister, Delores (James) Scherer and her brother, Rolland Schroeder; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 -12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Kohls Community Funeral Home 405 West Main Street, Waupun, WI.

A funeral service for Mary Ann will follow at 12:00 p.m. noon on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Gwen Loomans officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Mound Cemetery.
