Matthew Michael Berry, age 45 of Green Lake, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Juliette Manor in Berlin.
Matt was born on May 22, 1981, in Ripon, son of Michael and Kathleen (Wahoske) Berry. Matt will be remembered as a man with a huge heart who truly loved others. He was a graduate of Ripon High School, class of 1999, and remained closely connected to the people and places that shaped his life. Matt was united in marriage to his soulmate, Sara Guderjahn on May 14, 2005, in Ripon, Wisconsin, a day that marked the beginning of an important chapter in his life.
Family meant everything to Matt. He lived for his family and held a special love for his nephews. He treasured taking them fishing and teaching them how to fish, sharing with them not only the sport itself but also the patience, joy, and time together that made those moments so meaningful. Those memories will remain a lasting gift to the boys he loved so much. Matt also found great happiness in the outdoors and in time spent with those closest to him. His cousin John was his best friend, and the two always enjoyed their moments together fishing and hunting. At home, Matt’s caring nature was also reflected in his love for his fur baby cats. He was a devoted cat lover and took comfort and happiness in their companionship. He was also a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where his faith was part of his life.
Matt is survived by his wife Sara Berry; his sister, Mandy Berry; half-sister, Michelle Davis; nephews, Aiden, Tristyn, Jackson, Gage, Holdyn, Bentley and Brisyn; nieces, Payton, Bayley (Matt) Cobb and Briana Heidt; great-nephew, Oliver; brother-in-law, Adam Guderjahn and sister-in-law, Misty Guderjahn; in-laws, Dennis and Carol Guderjahn; Godfather, Uncle Pete Wahoske; further survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Kathy Berry and his brother-in-law, Jason Guderjahn.
Visitation for Matt will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 440 Lake Street, Green Lake, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
