Ruth Anderson

Ruth Anderson, age 93 of Waupun, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du lac with family at her side.

Ruth was born on August 11, 1931, daughter of Norbert and Ella (Shultz) Sell. She was united in marriage to Glen Nummerdor on December 6, 1947 and together they had a son Lee Nummerdor. After Glen passed away on September 7, 1971, she married James Anderson on September 1, 1973. Throughout her career, she worked at Hopps Restaurant and Guths Candy Store, where she made many friends and cherished her interactions with the community. Ruth had a vibrant personality and was known for being active and social. She had a passion for quilting and enjoyed attending craft fairs. She was particularly fond of the southern Native American theme and expressed her creativity through painting and various crafts. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Ruth is survived by her grandchildren, Robert “Bob” (Michelle) Nummerdor, Brent (Leah) Nummerdor and Michele Nummerdor; twelve great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; her sister, Hazel Sell and daughter-in-law, Donna Nummerdor; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Nummerdor and her husband, James Anderson; son, Lee Nummerdor; sister, Beatrice (Ed) Schaumburg and Mabel (Artie) Lehmans.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, WI 53963.

A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Kohls Community Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Nicla officiating. Inurnment will take place at Alto Cemetery.
