Susan "Sue" Elizabeth Zemlo

Susan Elizabeth Zemlo passed away peacefully after a life marked by dedication, kindness, and deep ties to the community she loved so dearly.

 Sue devoted her entire career to Randolph School District, where she served as a secretary and became one of the most familiar and trusted faces in the building. For generations of students and families, Sue was often the first person they met and the one they remembered most. From scraped knees and forgotten lunches to worried parents and busy school days, her office was the heart of the school. Through her warmth, patience, and steady presence, Sue left a lasting impression on countless students who passed through her door over the years. After her retirement, Sue continued to enjoy working with the public during her many years at JCPenney, where she took great pleasure in seeing familiar faces and making new friends. 

Above all else, Sue was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Jon Zemlo; Marcia Lawrence (Pat); Kristin Braaksma (Jeff); and Brad Zemlo (Tracy). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Rhianna Huizenga (Peter); Emily Lehman (Ryan); Bailey Smits (Dave); Brandi Rens (Delvin); Stephen Lawrence; Jonathan Lawrence (Meredith); and Lexie Zemlo, as well as six beloved great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. 

Sue is also survived by her brothers, James Hopp (Jean) and William Hopp (Mary), and her sister-in-law, Kathleen Staddler. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Lambert Hopp; her sister, Patricia Renfro; her former husband, Larry Zemlo; and her special friend, Bob Hepp. 

Sue will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering commitment to the school community, and the genuine care she showed to everyone who walked through her office doors. Her legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched throughout her years of service. 

The Zemlo family would like to send a special thanks to Randolph Health Services and Hillside Hospice for the comfort care they provided. 

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Annunciation Catholic Church 305 Green Street, Fox Lake, WI 53933. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at church. 

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
